Dr. Thomas (Tommy) M. Taylor has been practicing dentistry in Del Rio since 1998 after receiving his DMD degree from Tufts School of Dental Medicine. He and his father, Dr. L.G. Taylor established Amistad Dentistry. One of Dr. Tommy’s goals was to build a state-of-the-art dental practice in Del Rio to minimize his patients having to travel out of town for dental procedures. Other than general dentistry procedures, i.e. fillings, crowns/bridges, removable dentures, and simple extractions, Amistad Dentistry offers wisdom teeth removal, implant placement, fixed implant supported dentures and all can be performed under IV sedation. Dr. Taylor’s vision for The Amistad Academy of Dental Assisting is to train students to be proficient assisting with, not only, general dentistry, but also with some of the more advanced dental procedures.
Elaine Clines graduated from the Ohio State University College of Dentistry in 2017 and did her Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency through the Air Force at joint base Anacostia-Bolling in Washington D.C. Dr. Clines served 4 years in the Air Force, where she worked cases with specialists in the area of oral surgery, periodontics, endodontics, pediatrics, and orthodontics. Dr. Clines enjoys being able to perform procedures in all areas of dentistry, but particularly enjoys 3rd molar surgery with IV sedation, endodontics and fixed prosthodontics.
Stephany graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2012. She also attended and graduated from Brazos Valley Dental Assisting School in 2012 and became a Registered Dental Assistant. She has had the opportunity to work as a dental assistant, specializing in orthodontics, as a scheduling, treatment, marketing, finance, insurance coordinator and practice manager. Stephany has trained under some of the best consultants across the nation in areas of Practice Management, Business Acumen and Systemization, Obstructive Sleep Apnea, Orthodontics, and Medical and Dental Insurance Billing just to name a few. Stephany is well rounded in the field and enjoys being able to help patients receive the quality care they deserve while simultaneously helping patients afford the dental treatment they need. Her favorite part of the dental profession is being able to watch patients grow and gain confidence through their routine visits to the office and their smile transformations.
Alejandra graduated from Coastal Bend College in May 2006 with a degree in dental hygiene. Throughout the past 16 years she has established long term relationships with her patients helping some of them overcome their fear of the dentist. Growing up it was not a priority in her household to go to the dentist so this inspired her to not only change her mindset but those of others. Since the start of her career she has found joy in helping people reach their goals with their smiles. She has educated people of the impact that dental hygiene can have on a person’s overall health. Her passion for dental health has led her to continue her education and become laser certified. She looks forward to being a mentor for those who want to pursue a career in the dental field. Being a dental hygienist gives her the flexibility to enjoy spending time at community events with family and friends on the weekends.
Genevieve is a passionate Dental Assistant. Since 2004, she has been dedicated to caring for the health and improvement of the smiles of countless patients at Amistad Dentistry. Her passion is backed by technical skills and annual continuing education, including certification in CEREC Technology, Phlebotomy, Orthodontics, and Nitrous Oxide. She has received training in single implants, All-In-X, designing crowns and is a Sleep Apnea Consultant. She also enjoys volunteering with communities in poverty internationally.
Tina has enjoyed being in the dental field since 2018. She is a highly experienced registered dental assistant and continues to grow through dental continuing education classes; a commitment she proudly holds to better assist patients in maintaining practical dental health. Tina was able to extend her knowledge in Kentucky to enhance her confidence in oral surgery and IV Sedation cases. She has also had the opportunity to train in Colorado for All-On-X procedures (implant supported dentures) as well as different oral surgeries.
Originally from Anchorage, Alaska, Tricia received her education from Fort Sam Houston when she was there for technical schooling with the United States Air Force. She has been in the dental field since 2016 and enjoys meeting new patients and interacting with them. Aside from a background in dentistry, she obtained her EMT license in 2018 and enjoys being out in the field and helping others.
Outside of work, Tricia goes to school full time and enjoys spending time at Lake Amistad. She likes to go kayaking as well as spending time swimming. She is family oriented and enjoys spending time with her parents and their two dogs, Duke and Ivory.
Ashley Marie received her education from Kaplan College as a registered Dental Assistant (RDA). She has been in the dental field since 2010. Her first 10 years were in pediatric dentistry. She is passionate about helping others. Ashley Marie truly enjoys meeting people and getting to know them. She enjoys educating our patients and interacting with them. Her goal is to make sure our patients leave with a SMILE. Originally from Spofford, TX, in her spare time, she enjoys spending quality time outdoors. She and her family enjoy fishing, swimming, BBQs, time with their horses, and lots of crafts!
Bonnie has been a dental assistant since 1987 and joined Amistad Dentistry in 2002. She has received continuing education and training in implants, cosmetic dentistry, orthodontics, and specialized in Invisalign. Bonnie has been Amistad Dentistry’s dedicated orthodontic assistant since 2018. Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband, 3 children and their families. She and her husband, Greg, are blessed with 9 grandchildren. They enjoy cooking, crafts and gardening.
Born and raised in Del Rio, Texas, Alexa is a 2023 graduate from the College of Health Care Professions Dental Assistant Program and joined our team shortly after. She loves working with great doctors and a team that takes care of each and every patient. Outside of dentistry, her interests include spending time with loved ones, traveling, and crafting. Here’s an interesting fact about her: she has been a patient of Dr. Taylor since 2005!
Cynthia attended Del Rio High school, followed by Career Point College. She has specialized training and awards for CNA and Medical Assistant. Cynthia has been with us since 2014, and her favorite part of dentistry is interacting with patients, especially helping them maximize their benefits so that they can get the dental treatment they need. She loves learning new things and especially enjoys working with her co-workers.
In her free time, she loves spending time with her family watching movies. She also enjoys crafting and party planning.
Lizette was born and raised in Del Rio, TX. She loves being the first face you see when you walk into our office. She loves meeting new patients and making them feel like family. Outside of work she loves spending time with friends and family, and also volunteers her time as a cheer coach for the Del Rio Football Cheer Youth League.
Rebecca attended Del Rio High School and has completed coursework as a Medical Assistant. Rebecca has experience in the medical field and most recently joined the Amistad Dentistry family in June 2022. She loves helping patients understand their dental treatment and providing financial options so patients can achieve their dental goals. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, attending their many sport functions, as well as watching NFL/College football.
Priscilla attended Brackettville High School and obtained her RDA through UT Health Science Center. She joined the Amistad Dentistry Family in 2012. She enjoys meeting new people and helping patients with dental treatment questions. In her free time, she enjoys time with her husband and 2 sons.
Blanquita was born and raised in Del Rio, TX. She has been with Amistad Dentistry since September 2020. Her favorite part of Dentistry is learning the latest trends in the industry and ensuring patients receive all the insurance benefits within their coverage. One of Blanquita’s favorite parts of our office is the culture and environment our team provides for our patients. In her free time, Blanquita spends most of her time with family and friends. Some of her hobbies include outdoor activities such as golf, cooking out, playing with her dogs, and watching football on the patio.
